Further Information:

Part of a collection of photographs taken by Robert (Bob) Leitch in the 1920s of Cheshire, whilst cycling with Rover Scouts. His cycling companions included William (Bill) Lloyd and Harold Litherland. Rover Scouting is the final stage in the Scouts’ Association, after Beavering, Wolf Cubbing, Scouting and Senior Scouting.

The pump was the only source of drinking water for the whole community until 1934, when a piped supply was first connected.
